New TCR-specification platform has strong showing in Pirelli World Challenge Touring Car season opener
DANVILLE, VA — The Pirelli World Challenge Touring Car Championship launched its season at Virginia International Raceway this past weekend, marking a return to the picturesque southern track, which was last on the calendar in 2010. The series' top class, TC, welcomed a number of new cars for the first time. Most notable of these was the new Audi RS 3 LMS, which is the German manufacturer’s offering in the increasingly popular TCR series that compete around the globe. Modified slightly from its TCR spec to match the performance of the TC-class, it cuts quite a figure, with its body-arch extensions reminiscent of DTM prototypes.

C360R's Continental Tire Sportscar Challenge squad celebrated strong finishes for all three of their cars at the series' second round, held at Florida's Sebring International Raceway. Mathew Keegan and Nico Rondet placed third in the GS class in their No.77 AERO Paint / Santo Mezquila / Misahara Jewelry McLaren 570S GT4, whilst Paul Holton and Mathieu Plumb finished fifth in the No.76 AlphaClone / Pfaff McLaren / Race Day Foundation car. Roy Block and Pierre Kleinubing were ninth in the ST class in their APR / Audi Genuine Parts and Tire Center / AERO Paint Audi S3.

Floridian Paul Holton has been engaged to helm the car, which has support from AlphaClone, AERO Paint, Audi Genuine Parts, Audi Tire Center and APR.

Veteran team launches new supercar program with new sponsors and strong driver line-up
TORONTO, CANADA — After three seasons fielding a diverse group of cars in the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge and the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, long-time IMSA competitor Compass Racing announced today the launch of their new two-car GS program for 2017. With the unveiling of this effort, the team becomes the second to publicly announce the introduction of McLaren’s new 570S GT4 car to the series.

Continue ReadingA flash flood featuring torrential rain (which eventually red-flagged the race for nearly 45 minutes) was the highlight of a rather forgettable race at the ordinarily lovely Virginia International Raceway for C360R, with its No. 76 Ford Mustang finishing sixth at the line, and the team's No. 74 and 75 Audis finishing well down the order, a mechanical issue putting the former a few laps down, and a huge shunt finishing the day for the latter.
