THOMSON AND ANDRETTI WIN AT MOSPORT

Bowmanville, ON – “I’m absolutely thrilled to take another win at our home track here at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park,” enthused Compass Racing Team Principal Karl Thomson after the first race of the SRO America GT4 SprintX round on Friday. “This marks my second pro win at Mosport (the first coming with Billy Johnson in 2007), and it always means so much to stand on the top step with our friends and family in attendance."

MCLAREN 720S GT3 DEBUTS AT MID-OHIO

The result of Compass Racing's debut of the McLaren 720S GT3 in North America at Mid-Ohio belie what was a very good opening weekend of IMSA’s WeatherTech Sprint Cup for drivers Paul Holton and Matt Plumb. Coming off a series of initial development tests at Palm Beach International Raceway, Mid-Ohio and Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, the team looked forward to a solid showing in the initial round.

COMPASS RACING TO DEBUT MCLAREN 720S GT3 IN IMSA SPRINT CUP AT MID-OHIO


Multiple-time Michelin Pilot Challenge Champions will contest seven-race series with new car

TORONTO, CANADA — Long-time IMSA competitors Compass Racing will add to their successful McLaren racing program with the debut of their new 720S GT3 at Mid-Ohio on May 3-5th for the first round of the WeatherTech Sprint Cup. This seven-race championship features all of the two-hour-and-forty-five minute events on the WeatherTech schedule and promises to provide thrilling competition.

Factory McLaren driver Paul Holton will be joined by Matt Plumb for the team’s championship effort, with Woking providing deep technical support at each event. “We are pleased to extend our partnership with McLaren by officially launching the new 720S GT3 in North America,” enthused Compass Racing’s President, Jill Beck. “Paul has been one of the test drivers on the car through its development over the past year, and we all have high hopes for the first race car developed entirely in-house by McLaren Automotive.”
