2007 / KONI Challenge Series

Building upon a strong 2006 season, which led to Acura winning the Manufacturer's Title in Grand Am Cup, Kensai Racing and Compass360 (both of Toronto, Canada) confirmed today that they'll be extending their relationship for the 2007 season. Kensai Racing will field two Acura TSXs, as well as their sole remaining RSX from 2006, with primary sponsorship from Compass360 Design + Advertising.

We are currently interviewing drivers for the sole remaining seat in our RSX-S. This car was on the pole at Daytona and Barber in 2006, and was always near the top of the time sheets. We are looking for drivers who have the funding and talent appropriate for a front-running team with cars capable of winning. 2006 /Grand Am Cup

After fielding a single Acura RSX in 2005, Kensai moved to two season-long entries this year. Compass360 was asked to assist in branding, promotions and public relations, with Karl Thomson as pilot at six Grand Am Cup races, including both VIR events, Laguna Seca, Mid Ohio, and Lime Rock.

Thomson partnered with a number of different drivers throughout the year including Billy Johnson, David Ciekiewicz and Aaron Povoledo. The #75 Kensai RSX ran with lead driver Travis Walker and other pilots including Povoledo, Taz Harvey and Tom Nastasi. Walker and Thomson were joined by Nick Wittmer in the 75 car for the season-ending race at VIR.

The result was three top-five finishes for Thomson in just six starts.

Kensai sat out the Miller event, and Greenville, NC-based ROAR Racing hired us to help with their RX-8 program, which had been struggling since the beginning of the year.

Karl Thomson and Billy Johnson piloted the #62 car to an 11th-place finish at Miller Motorsports Park, by far the best finish ever for the team. Click here for the story.

2006 / CASC

The Compass360/Racing team fielded the #360 Mazda RX-7 in selected CASC events in 2006. The 1994 RX-7 program builds on our team's beginnings in regional racing with our Rothmans Porsche 944 and our BMW Z3 Coupes.

The RX-7 competed in two race series during each weekend it ran. Thomson ended up on the podium in both at the end of every weekend, including class wins in both OCC Sprints and TGTC races.

Compass360 is a proud sponsor of the Touring GT Championship.
