IMSA CONTINENTAL TIRE RACE A WET AND WILD AFFAIR

A flash flood featuring torrential rain (which eventually red-flagged the race for nearly 45 minutes) was the highlight of a rather forgettable race at the ordinarily lovely Virginia International Raceway for C360R, with its No. 76 Ford Mustang finishing sixth at the line, and the team's No. 74 and 75 Audis finishing well down the order, a mechanical issue putting the former a few laps down, and a huge shunt finishing the day for the latter. Enjoy a lovely gallery of pictures from Sideline Sports Photography below.

Wet, wild conditions saw No.76 out front leading with Paul Holton at the helm.

In better conditions, Jim McGuire and Nico Rondet were quick, especially through the downhill "Rollercoaster."

Roy Block and Tom Dyer paced the field with Tom setting top-five times in practice. Unfortunately, their race day ended early with Roy being involved in a high-speed shunt under torrential conditions in the rain.

Lovely light in evening practice in the Virginia countryside. C360R's had a lot of success at this track with three wins, and we had high hopes for this race. Alas, mother nature conspired against us...

We'll be back at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, ready for battle once again.
