WALKER AND PRITIKO ON PODIUM AT DAYTONA

Daytona, FL—For the third year in succession, Compass360 Racing took a podium finish in the season-opening round of the Grand-Am KONI Challenge, with Matt Pritiko and Travis Walker in the #76 Skunk2-sponsored car taking a hard-fought third-place in the three-hour battle.

Peter Schwartzott and Bo Roach claimed 10th place with a consistent run in the #75 Honda, whilst Christian Miller and Randy Pobst finished 11th with an engine issue, after running up front for most of the race in the #74 034Motorsports car.

"What a great way to start the season, with our third podium in three years!" enthused Team Principal Karl Thomson. "Billy (Johnson) and I won in '07, then Travis and I were third last year. This track sure does suit our Hondas!"Pritiko and Travis, who are signed for the season, were equally pleased. "The car was just mega all weekend," noted Walker. "We worked qualifying well so that all three Compass cars were able to draft together in the race. Matt was perfect and I'm really excited about partnering with him this year."

“The racing was so close, with four or five cars racing back and forth for the lead," said Pobst. "Really great stuff. Ray Lee is really good at what he does. The car was so well set up. It was fun to be in a Honda again with the high reving VTech engine. It howls like a race engine. I love that sound.” The KONI Challenge Fresh From Florida 200 will air on January 31 at 4:00 PM EST on SPEED.
