TWO C360R HONDAS IN TOP TEN IN ALABAMA

2012 Civic Si's Notch Best Results so far at Challenging Alabama Circuit

Birmingham, AL -- Compass360 Racing's four Honda squad delivered the new 2012 Civic Si's best results thus far during the second round of Grand-Am's Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge at the picturesque Barber Motorsports Park in Alabama. The race, which was marred by lengthy cautions during its initial hour, did showcase some intense racing throughout the latter half of the race as the 70-car field fought in the close quarters of this challenging, twisty track.

Although it looked like a podium and another top five result might be possible towards the end of the race, a late-event caution bunched up the field which meant our #75 car driven by Ray Mason and Ryan Eversley finished seventh, our #74 car of Andrew Novich and Adam Burrows was 10th, the #76  of John Kuitwaard and David Thlienius was 21st and the #77 of James Colborn and Bo Roach was 22nd (the latter two having a fierce battle in the closing stages).

As far as the development of our new 2012 Civic Si goes, we're pleased with two top-tens in just the second race, and look forward to further improvement when we go to Homestead and New Jersey in April/May. In the meanwhile, enjoy some lovely shots by the Stahlschmidts at Sideline Sports Photography:

Top team finisher was the #75 of Ray Mason and Ryan Eversley.

Close behind in 10th was the #74 of Andrew Novich and Adam Burrows.

Andrew Novich considers some pre-race Gatorade. In orange, of course.

Adam Burrows either ruing the slower car in front which caused the spin, or working on his casting face for Avengers 3.

John Kuitwaard. "It's a bird... it's a plane... nah, it's Burrows."

David Thllenius (left), works an angle to drive IndyCar (with Simon Pagenaud and HPD's Lee Niffenegger (right)).

The #77 was fiesty in the closing stages at the hands of Bo Roach.

Speaking of which, Roach (right) explains how surprised he was at the stealth of the low-flying fighter jets during the pre-race ceremony.

James Colborn hopes he'll see more green laps at Watkins Glen later this year.

Note: we really can't understand why the lovely folks at Sideline Sports Photography (who took all of these great shots and have done for us for years) didn't get any nice ones of Ray Mason and Ryan Eversley, who drive the #75 car. Perhaps Ray was off with his posse of lovely ladies, and Ryan was busy in his Children's Tumor Foundation tights which don't meet team branding regulations?. Regardless, we'll hope it's redressed for the event at Homestead.
