GERACI AND GOLINELLO PAIR TO FIFTH-PLACE FINISH AT COTA

Austin, TX – The opening two rounds of the SRO GT4 America 2020 season were held at the impressive Circuit of the Americas, with Compass Racing welcoming two new drivers to the team. Anthony Geraci and Rich Golinello co-drove the team’s No. 77 McLaren Newport Beach 570S GT4 – which featured a new white-and-orange livery – bringing home a solid fifth-place finish.

Both drivers are no strangers to sports car racing. Geraci drove a Ginetta in the series last season, whilst Golinello competed in a Mustang. Anthony tested with the team in California in advance of the races, and was impressed with the McLaren platform.
Golinello started the first race, on Saturday, and had spirited battles with a number of competitors before contact with an Aston Martin bent a rear tie rod. The Compass crew worked quickly to repair the damage, getting Geraci out to bring the car home. Unfortunately, enough time had elapsed in the pit to result in the car not making 75% of the race and finished outside of the points. On Sunday, Geraci was the starting driver, keeping the car in sight of the leaders. The guys executed a quick driver change, with Golinello now at the wheel, once again enjoying some good battles on his way to a creditable fifth-place.
