VISTA, CA — Ebullition Brew Works has created three motorsports-inspired beers to celebrate the conclusion of the 2020 IMSA WeatherTech Sprint Cup and their first season as a strategic partner to Compass Racing. The amusingly-named, limited-run beverages will be shared – in a socially-distanced manner – with friends and competitors after the season-ending race at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca on Sunday, November 1st.
With the Long Beach event cancelled from this year’s calendar, Laguna Seca is the de facto “home race” for Compass Racing and Ebullition, both based in Vista, California.
“We’ve had a wonderful year partnering with the folks at Compass Racing,” noted Ebullition President and Co-Founder Jesse Richardson. “It’s been exciting to cheer on the team and drivers of the No.76 Richard Mille McLaren 720S GT3, and we’re all looking to close out 2020 on a high note and to raise a glass of one of our quality craft beers to cap it off.”
Inspired by some memorable moments from the 2020 season, the beers include: “Boys Have At It” is a fruit-forward high-ABV Hazy Double IPA named for an apocryphal comment delivered during a driver’s meeting – back when they were in-person and not via an emailed PDF file – in response to questions from drivers regarding “incident responsibility."“I Went for the Gap” is a smooth, citrus dry-hopped lager celebrating drivers’ optimism in seeing a space for their car that appears larger than it actually is – especially when making over-taking maneuvers – often resulting in contact and a review of the incident from the officials in race control.“Stop Plus 30” is a delicious stout with coffee flavors, inspired by the moment when a stout penalty is required after a review of an incident (see above), requiring a trip to the penalty box plus a thirty-second hold. This beer has a slight bitter taste, which is much less bitter than the driver can be after receiving such a reprimand.
“This year has been an exceptional one, for so many reasons,” remarked Team Owner Jill Beck. “Ebullition joined us just as our racing season was re-started in July, and we’ve truly enjoyed working with them. Not only do they brew some fine beverages, they serve up some of the best food in San Diego County. And they have a wicked sense of humour, as evidenced by these latest releases."
Compass Racing offers sincere thanks to Ebullition and other team partners: Richard Mille, McLaren Automotive, AERO Advanced Paint Technology, McLaren Newport Beach, the Torque Show and The Race Day Foundation.
The Laguna Seca race will be broadcast live on NBC Sports Network at 6:30 PM ET / 3:30pm on Sunday November 1st.
